Match day at last. We had a pleasant surprise when the Raja Muda and his wife joined us for breakfast. There was quite a crowd at the cafe, most of them wearing United colours. We had a group photo outside the hotel before taking the tram to Old Trafford. On the side walk to the stadium, there were stalls selling unofficial but interesting United merchandise. There were all kind of t-shirts, mostly with United as the theme but also t-shirts which were not so complimentary of the other teams, especially Liverpool, City, Arsenal and Chelsea.

The programme for this day was our visit to Old Trafford – the Megastore, and the Museum & Stadium tour. By the time I went down for breakfast at the hotel’s cafe, most of the group were there enjoying the buffet breakfast. Everybody was excited about the visit to Old Trafford especially for the first-timers.

This was my second trip to Manchester and Old Trafford, and once again it was one incredible experience. A few of my fellow travellers have been to Old Trafford so many times that they have lost count. Yet I am sure that they will always remember this particular trip and one particular moment. The match we were going to watch was the Manchester derby against City on Saturday 12 February 2011. It was a match which would be the talk of the town for a long time.
