Sir Alex Ferguson decided to field a very different starting XI than the ones who started last week’s Premier League game against Newcastle with a blend of youth & experience.
Crystal Palace took the lead after a thunderbolt strike by Darren Ambrose on 65 minutes, only to be cancelled out by Macheda’s penalty kick 4 minutes later. However after only 8 minutes into extra time, Palace sealed the win with a close range header by Murray which condemned United to another defeat at Old Trafford.
