A goal by Chicharito and Demba Ba for both sides in the second half contributed to a 1-1 draw at the Theatre Of Dreams.

United opened the scoring after a fortuitous goal by Chicharito inside Newcastle’s penalty box, but were denied all three points after the referee points to the spot 30 minutes before full-time after Rio Ferdinand has be alleged to have fouled Hatem Ben Arfa, in what looked like a clean tackle from the center half.

Demba Ba then cooly slotted into the left hand side of David De Gea’s goal before the Red Devils bombarded forward and through everything at Newcastle but failed to score the all important winning goal even after beating Tim Krul, only to be denied by Man United old boy, Danny Simpson off the line.

After City’s draw against Liverpool, United still sit atop at 2nd place, 5 points behind their “Noisy Neighbour”.
